Flies expressing BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 have growth defects in the notum and wings, such as an irregular scutellum margin and twisted and shrunken wings.

Flies expressing BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 have defects such as discoloration of the notum, an irregular scutellum margin, abnormal number and length of bristles and twisted and shrunken wings.

Expression of BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU results in increased apoptosis in the posterior region of the wing disc.

Adults expressing BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Depending on the insertion line used, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR can result in adult/pharate lethality or late pupal lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in a colour difference between the central Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain of the notum and the surrounding lateral region in 50-60% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 0% or 40-50% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 50-60% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.

Co-expression of Hsap\BCAS2Scer\UAS.wt fully restores the scutellum margin and wing shape in animals expressing BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096. Wing veins are only partially recovered in these flies, with the anterior crossvein being missing and the posterior crossvein being truncated.

Co-expression of Hsap\BCAS2Scer\UAS.wt partially rescues wing shape in animals expressing BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544.

Co-expression of Hsap\BCAS2C.Scer\UAS partially rescues wing deformation in animals expressing BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 : the wings are partially unfolded and wing veins can be seen. However, the notum defects are not rescued.

Co-expression of Hsap\BCAS2Scer\UAS.wt fully suppresses the increased apoptosis seen in the posterior region of the wing disc in animals expressing BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU.

Co-expression of Hsap\BCAS2C.Scer\UAS partially suppresses the increased apoptosis seen in the posterior region of the wing disc in animals expressing BCAS2GD11494 under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU.
