Expressing dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4638 results in wings that are smaller and rounder, present vein defects and smaller anterior-posterior cross-vein distance, as compared to controls.

Expressing dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4hh.PU results in wings with smaller relative posterior area but third instar larval wing discs with enlarged posterior compartment, as compared to controls.

Expressing dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU leads to increased apoptosis in the posterior wing disc compartment of third instar larvae, as compared to controls.

Expression of dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 in the dorsal region of the wing alters wing shape and disrupts crossveins, but produces only localised hair polarity changes in the proximal region. Expression of dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 alters posterior ridges to a more anterior-posterior orientation, but does not affect anterior ridges.

Expression of dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 does not affect wing hair polarity.

Expression of dsGD14350 (together with Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) using Scer\GAL4nub-AC-62 results in overgrown wings.

Adults expressing dsGD14350 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.

Adults expressing dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in a large increase in the relative size of the posterior compartment of the wing disc (where Scer\GAL4en-e16E is expressed) to 140% of anterior compartment size (in control wing discs, the posterior compartment is 80% of the size of the anterior compartment).

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in planar polarity defects in the orientation of bristles of the notum in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in an enlarged notum.

Expression of dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 in the dorsal region of pk30-mutant wing modifies the pk30 hair phenotype to a more distal polarity in the anterior and distal posterior regions.

Expression of dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 in a pk30 mutant wings results in changes in wing hair polarity (relative to the wild-type pattern) outside of the main Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 expression domain.

When flies of the genotype Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096/+; pk30, dsGD14350/pk30, Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B are cultivated continuously at 18[o]C, they show a typical pk30 mutant wing phenotype.

When flies of the genotype Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096/+; pk30, dsGD14350/pk30, Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B are cultivated continuously at 30[o]C, they display wing morphology typical of reduced ds activity combined with more distal wing hair polarity than a pk30 mutant.

When flies of the genotype Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096/+; pk30, dsGD14350/pk30, Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B are shifted from 18[o]C to 30[o]C during pupal development, they show close to wild-type wing morphology, but a wing hair phenotype that is dependent upon timing of the temperature shift. Flies shifted before 30 hours after puparium formation (a.p.f), display the more distal wing hair polarity typical of continuous ds knockdown and a significant modification of the pk30 wing hair phenotype is observed when pupae are shifted 36 hours a.p.f. However, pupae shifted after 40 hors a.p.f. display wing hair polarity phenotypes within the range of pk30 mutant wings.

The wing overgrowth phenotype associated with Scer\GAL4nub-AC-62-mediated expression of dsGD14350 (together with Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa) is suppressed by co-expression of Zyx102EFNIG.32018R.

Co-expression of lftNIG.13139R enhances the overgrowth of the the posterior compartment of the wing disc that is seen in animals expressing dsGD14350 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E, such that the posterior compartment is 178% of anterior compartment size (in control wing discs, the posterior compartment is 80% of the size of the anterior compartment).
