Expression of orb2^JF02376 under the control of Scer\GAL4^VT016811 or Scer\GAL4^VT041043, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the 5-7 days of the adult stage immediately before, and the 24 h during, experimentation, does not significantly affect aversive olfactory long term memory in adults, compared to controls, when flies undergo spaced training.

Expression of orb2^JF02376 under the control of Scer\GAL4^drl-PGAL8 results in a memory deficit, but no defects in learning or short term memory. Similar results are seen when expression is restricted to the adult stages using Scer\GAL80^ts.αTub84B.
