Expression of P{Sym-UAS-SA} (which carries both SASym.Scer\UAS and SAa.Sym.Scer\UAS) under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI results in pupal lethality, with the degree of lethality depending on the particular P{Sym-UAS-SA} insertion line used. No increase in precocious sister chromatid separation in third larval instar brain squashes is seen in these animals.
