UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Glial expression of drkKK109233, under the control of Scer\GAL4repo (and Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B) suppresses glial clearance of axonal debris after axotomy. In control animals, the vast majority of axonal debris is cleared approximately 5 days after axotomy. In these mutants, a significant amount of axonal debris lingers in the brain at day 5 and is ultimately cleared 20 days after axotomy.
Knockdown of drk in glia, through expression of drkKK109233 under the control of Scer\GAL4repo (and Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B) results in a failure of the glia to efficiently form enclosed vesicles 1 day after axotomy, resulting in the total number of vesicles being reduced to ~30% that of controls.
Expression of drkKK109233 in TIFR-positive glia (under the control of Scer\GAL4TIFR signficiantly reduces the number of glial vesicles containing axonal debris compared with controls.

drkKK109233/Scer\GAL4GMR.PU is a non-suppressor of eye phenotype of hidGMR.PG
Co-expression of drkKK109233 does not modify eye size in animals expressing WGMR.PG or WAla5.GMR.
Co-expression of drkKK109233 in a WAla5.GMR, AckScer\UAS.cSb, Scer\GAL4GMR.PU background results in flies with eyes that are greatly reduced in size.
