The number of dendritic endpoints of dorsal dendritic arborisation neurons is reduced compared to controls in larvae expressing α-AdaptindsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80.
Expression of α-AdaptindsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF disrupts rhabdomere development; individual rhabdomeres are smaller than normal and ill formed, the base of the rhabdomeres is distorted and the cell bodies of the photoreceptor cells show accumulation of membraneous structures.
Animals co-expressing both PldScer\UAS.cRa and α-AdaptindsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have virtually no detectable rhabdomeres, and the cell bodies of the photoreceptors continue to show accumulation of membrane transport intermediates.
