Mical15256 mutant ddaC neuron clones exhibit dendrite pruning defects at 16 hours after puparium formation. No difference is seen at the white prepupal stage.

Mical15256 and Mical15256/Df(3R)swp2MICAL mutants exhibit a failure of dendrite severing in ddaC neurons by 18h APF. Mical15256 ddaC neurons retain an average of 7.4 primary and secondary dendrites attached to the soma at 18h APF and 3 dendrites at 24h APF, indicating that the mutant neurons have a strong severing defect. The overall larval dendrite morphology of ddaC neurons in the wL3 larvae of Mical15256 zygotic mutants is indistinguishable from that of wild-type ddaC neurons, as judged by the number of terminal dendrites.

Mical15256 ddaC MARCM clones show a severing defect in ddaC neurons.

Mical15256 heterozygosity does not significantly affect the ddaC neuron pruning defects observed in prd1M56/Df(3R)Exel7310 transheterozygous at 16h after puparium formation, namely the length of the persisting dendrites.

Mical15256 slmb8 double mutant ddaC neuron clones have more severe dendrite pruning defects at 16 hours after puparium formation as are seen in either single mutant alone. No change is seen in the level of pruning at the white prepupal stage.

Expression of InRA1325D.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG enhances the dendrite pruning defects seen in Mical15256 mutant ddaC neuron clones at 16 hours after puparium formation.

Expression of Pi3K92EScer\UAS.Exel under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG enhances the dendrite pruning defects seen in Mical15256 mutant ddaC neuron clones at 16 hours after puparium formation.

Expression of RhebScer\UAS.cPa under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG enhances the dendrite pruning defects seen in Mical15256 mutant ddaC neuron clones at 16 hours after puparium formation.

Overexpression of Sox14fl.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 or Scer\GAL4221 in a homozygous Mical15256 background has a very mild pruning effect on primary and secondary dendrites by 6 hours APF.
