Description

UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of numb coding sequences where the entire C-terminus of numb (amino acids 336-556), which also contains the SH3 binding motifs is removed.

Detailed Description

Expression of numbΔC.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in the SOP lineage, under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 causes balding of the notum due to transformation of IIA daughter into a second IIB and subsequent transformation of IIIb's sheath daughter into another neuron, resulting in mutant external sensory organs with as many as four neurons.

The multi-socket phenotype found in Pros261 mutants is completely suppressed by expression of numbΔC.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC (under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4) with the resultant flies exhibiting only the numb phenotype, namely, balding of the notum. Underneath the balding patches, there are clusters of as many as four neurons.
