Expression of rprUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF leads to retinal degeneration (monitored using eye size).

Expressing rprUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT induces apoptosis (cleaved Dcp1) and degeneration of photoreceptor cells in the adult retina, as compared to controls.

Expression of rprUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 (with tub-Gal80[ts] restricting expression to third instar larvae) does not lead to ectopic wings compared to controls.

Expression of rprUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a small eye phenotype.

Adulthood-only expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa under the combined control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU and Gal80[ts] induces intestinal dilation and muscle degeneration, as compared to controls.

Expression of rprUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU in the embryonic ventral nerve cord increases the volume of apoptotic particles, compared to controls.

Expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF induces cell death in the eye disc and generates a small-eye phenotype.

Neuronal apoptosis induced by expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev does not spread in the eye disc to non-Scer\GAL4hs.2sev-expressing cells.

Flies expressing rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU during pupal development (but not during embryogenesis, regulated by co-expression of Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B until the end of this stage) display increased timing of acceleration and speed of genitalia rotation.

Expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in cell autonomous apoptosis in the developing retina. Adults have small, rough eyes.

Expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa in early third-instar larvae under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU causes rapid apoptosis (caspase activation) in mitotically cycling cells of the wing disc, eye disc and brain. In endocycling salivary gland cells expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa also causes rapid and robust cell death in all cells, with complete gland destruction within 30 minutes.

Expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa in oenocytes and tracheal and epidermal cells in the dorsal region of the embryo under the control of Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 results in gross morphological defects.

Expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa in Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 mosaic embryos (i.e. only a subset of cells express Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 and are ablated) results in a reduced number of oenocytes, with those oenocytes present often displaying abnormal nuclear morphology. In some cases the oenocyte nuclei are small and irregular, while in others they are elongated.

In Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 ; rprScer\UAS.cUa mosaic embryos in which three or fewer oenocyte nuclei are visible exhibit v'ch1 axon mis-projection, either anteriorly or towards the lateral cluster neurons (in 20% of such hemisegments). In 11.4% of the hemisegments, one or more lateral cluster axons misproject ventrally and join the v'ch1 axon.

Expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa in Scer\GAL4Mz97 mosaic embryos (i.e. only a subset of cells express Scer\GAL4Mz97 and are ablated) results in a reduced number of oenocytes, with those oenocytes present often displaying abnormal nuclear morphology. In some cases the oenocyte nuclei are small and irregular, while in others they are elongated.

In Scer\GAL4Mz97 ; rprScer\UAS.cUa mosaic embryos in which three or fewer oenocyte nuclei are visible exhibit v'ch1 axon mis-projection, either anteriorly or towards the lateral cluster neurons (in 20% of such hemisegments). In 11.4% of the hemisegments, one or more lateral cluster axons misproject ventrally and join the v'ch1 axon.

Deletion of Scer\GAL4Gr66a.PD-expressing cells through expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa in decapitated male flies results in increased courtship of these flies by wild-type males.

Females co-expressing rprUAS.cUa and hidUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Tk.PS fail to show the expected mating-induced increase in germline stem cells in the germarium, as compared to controls.

Expression of rprUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 (with tub-Gal80[ts] restricting expression to third instar larvae) in CtBP87De-10/+ background does not lead to ectopic wings compared to controls.

Expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Hml.PU suppresses the increase in plasmatocytes seen in C1GalTAEY13370 mutant lymph glands. The atypical lymph gland surface and the reduction in hematopoietic stem cells are also suppressed.

Selective ablation of octopamine/tyramine neurons in the brains through co-expression of hidScer\UAS.cUa and rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC and VNC-specific Scer\GAL80tsh-GAL80 does not lead to any deficit in appetitive olfactory learning when fructose is given as a reward. Larvae also exhibit robust appetitive memory when sorbitol is used as a reward, comparable to that of genetic controls. In contrast, the larvae fail to show significant learning when rewarded with arabinose; memory performance is significantly reduced compared with controls. Perception of the odors (amyl acetate and benzaldehyde) is unaffected, and larvae show normal attraction behavior toward arabinose and perform indistinguishably from controls.

Flies co-expressing rprScer\UAS.cUa and WScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4Crz.PU show a significant reduction in ethanol sedation sensitivity compared to wild type.

hid110 mutants expressing both hidScer\UAS.cUa and rprScer\UAS.cUa in class IV dendritic arborization neurons (under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9) show markedly decreased white-light-avoidance behavior compared to wild-type and hid110 (bolwig-organ-ablated) mutants.

Co-expression of α4GT1dsRNA.Scer\UAS enhances the cell death in the developing retina caused by expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

Co-expression of α4GT1dsRNA.Scer\UAS.P\T slightly enhances the adult eye phenotype caused by expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

Co-expression of α4GT1EP797 suppresses the increased cell death in the developing retina and the adult eye phenotype caused by expression of rprScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

Co-expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa and rprScer\UAS.cUa in the posterior compartment of the wing disc under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 induces dramatic tissue overgrowth. This tissue overgrowth is suppressed by NcΔA8/NcΔA8 but is not suppressed by IceΔ2C8/IceΔ2C8.
