    Description

Inversion breakpoint (30D1 breakpoint of In(2LR)O) is within an intron of nAChRα6. The 5' (distal) end of this breakpoint corresponds to 2L:9 ,805,567 and the 3' (proximal) end corresponds to 2L:9 ,805,575 (release 6 coordinates), meaning that 7bp of genomic sequence is deleted at this breakpoint.

One of the inversions of the In(2LR)O chromosome fuses nAcRα-30D sequence from exon 8b (cytologically located at 30D) to the 5' end of Prosap (cytologically located at 50C). An internally deleted remnant of a pogo transposable element is also present on the nAcRα-30D side of the inversion.

    nAcRα-30DO in transheterozygous combination with one of nAcRα-30DCB1, nAcRα-30DCB2, nAcRα-30DCB3, nAcRα-30DCB4, nAcRα-30DCB5, nAcRα-30DCB6, nAcRα-30DCB7, nAcRα-30DCB8, nAcRα-30DCB9nAcRα-30DCB10, nAcRα-30DCB11, nAcRα-30DCB12, nAcRα-30DCB13 or nAcRα-30DCB14 results in adults which are resistant to spinosyn A compared to controls.

nAcRα-30DO/Df(2L)s1402 animals are 1181-fold resistant to the insecticide spinosad compared to wild-type (susceptible) controls.

Heterozygotes show a 1.7-fold increased resistance to the insecticide spinosad compared to wild-type (susceptible) controls.
