UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of dlp amino acids 1-713 in which all five potential GAG attachment sites (Ser625, Ser629, Ser631, Ser643 and Ser686) have been converted to Ala. The dlp sequence is fused to a transmembrane protein sequence (Rnor\Cd2 sequences that start from amino acid residue 24 and exclude the signal peptide).
Expression of dlp-HS.Scer\UAS.T:Rnor\CD2 under the control of Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 rescues naked cuticle formation in dlpA187 embryos derived from dlpA187 female germline clones.
