Activation of neurons expressing both 5-HT1B and fru (through heat-induced expression of TrpA1-FRT.Scer\UAS.cvPa under the control of Scer\GAL45-HT1B.PY and in which the Scer\FRT stop cassette has been removed by Scer\FLP1fru) inhibits baseline female contact-induced male-male aggression. Suppressing expression in the mushroom body neurons using Scer\GAL80Mef2.mb247 does not block this inhibition. Suppression of GABA neuron expression using Scer\GAL80Gad1 blocks the inhibition.

Activation of GABA+ neurons expressing fru (through heat-induced expression of TrpA1-FRT.Scer\UAS.cvPa under the control of Scer\GAL4Gad1.PS and in which the Scer\FRT stop cassette has been removed by Scer\FLP1fru) inhibits female contact-induced male-male aggression.

Activation of neurons expressing both Rdl and fru (through heat-induced expression of TrpA1-FRT.Scer\UAS.cvPa under the control of Scer\GAL4Rdl.PS and in which the Scer\FRT stop cassette has been removed by Scer\FLP1fru) inhibits baseline female contact-induced male-male aggression.

Males in which expression of TrpA1Scer\UAS.cvPa under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk23.2.336 is activated in the fru[+]expressing subset of ppk23[+] neurons (using Scer\FLP1fru to generate TrpA1Scer\UAS.cvPa from TrpA1Scer\FRT.stop.Scer\UAS in these cells) by increased temperature show courtship towards wild-type males.
