The expression of CycEHMS00060 under the control of Scer\GAL4A58 leads to the larval epidermis presenting small nuclei, as compared to controls; there are no apparent defects in wound closure.
The expression of CycEHMS00060 under the control of Scer\GAL4moody.PU results in a compromised blood-brain barrier in the adult, as dye injected into the body cavity is able to diffuse into the brain. Only at higher expression conditions (i.e. at 25[o]C but not at 18[o]C), larvae show the same blood-brain barrier defects, their brains are significantly smaller and their subperineurial glial cells present septate junction discontinuity (Dlg immunostaining), as well as significant decreases in nuclear size or ploidy.
