Mutant flies show defects in locomotor activity rhythms; under 12 hour light/12 hour dark conditions, the morning anticipation of lights-on is reduced compared to controls, and the rhythm is less robust, resulting in weak (43% of flies are rhythmic) but long periods (25.6 +/- 0.8 hours) under constant darkness conditions.
