Over-expression of nabEP642 in the posterior compartment of the wing imaginal disc under the control of Scer\GAL4hh.nd271 causes massive cell death. Somatic clones over-expressing nabEP642 are often eliminated from the wing imaginal disc 48 hours after their induction, indicating that these cells are dying rapidly.

The massive cell death seen upon over-expression of nabEP642 in the posterior compartment of the wing imaginal disc under the control of Scer\GAL4hh.nd271 is suppressed by knock down of brk through concurrent expression of brkGD1390.

Ectopic expression of pucScer\UAS.cMa blocks nabEP642-induced apoptosis in the imaginal wing disc.

nabEP642-induced apoptosis in the dorsal compartment of the wing imaginal disc (using the Scer\GAL4ap.nd432 driver) is virtually abolished upon removal of one copy of rpr, W and grim through a Df(3L)H99 background.

Removal of one copy of rpr through a Df(3L)XR38 heterozygous background significantly attenuates nabEP642-induced apoptosis in the dorsal compartment of the wing imaginal disc (using the Scer\GAL4ap.nd432 driver).

Removal of one copy of W through a W05014 heterozygous background significantly attenuates nabEP642-induced apoptosis in the dorsal compartment of the wing imaginal disc (using the Scer\GAL4ap.nd432 driver).

No change in nabEP642-induced apoptosis in the dorsal compartment of the wing imaginal disc (using the Scer\GAL4ap.nd432 driver) is found upon co-expression of grimGD11287.

Clones of cells co-expressing nabEP642 and pucScer\UAS.cMa in the wing imaginal disc (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) exhibit a block on overgrowth.

Clones of cells expressing nabEP642 in the wing imaginal disc (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) in a Df(3L)H99 heterozygous background stimulate a strong non-autonomous growth of neighboring tissue, as evidenced by wing disc overgrowth.

Clones of homozygous Df(3L)H99 wing disc cells over-expressing nabEP642 (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) exhibit compensatory proliferation, as evidenced by wing disc overgrowth.

Clones of cells expressing nabEP642 in the wing imaginal disc (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) co-expressing NcNIG.8091-R1 display strong JNK activity associated with robust extra tissue growth.

Co-expression of NcNIG.8091-R1 in clones of cells expressing nabEP642 in the wing imaginal disc (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) efficiently suppresses effector caspase activity but compensatory proliferation of neighboring cells still occurs.

Co-expression of thEP.M and nabEP642 in the wing imaginal disc under the control of Scer\GAL4ap.nd432 abolishes effector caspase activation and apoptosis.

Co-expression of thEP.M in clones of cells expressing nabEP642 in the wing imaginal disc (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) fails to suppress nabEP642-induced tissue overgrowth.

Apoptotic cell elimination induced by nabEP642 expression in wing imaginal disc clones (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) is not affected by co-expression of p53D259H.Scer\UAS.

Clones of imaginal wing disc cells co-expressing both nabEP642 and p53D259H.Scer\UAS (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) in a Df(3L)H99 heterozygous background exhibit non-autonomous tissue overgrowth.

Clones of cells expressing nabEP642 and BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa in the wing imaginal disc (under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C) exhibit a strong non-autonomous proliferation stimulatory effect, as evidenced by wing imaginal disc overgrowth.
