Expression of TBPHScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 results in shorter mushroom body lobes than normal. The flies show a severe reduction in performance in an odour avoidance learning assay compared to controls.

Expression of TBPHScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4D42 can result in pupal lethality or a shortening of the adult lifespan, depending on the level of expression of TBPHScer\UAS.cLa. Animals that survive to adulthood show an age-dependent decrease in locomotion compared to controls.

Expression of TBPHScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4D42 can result in defects in larval locomotion, depending on the level of expression of TBPHScer\UAS.cLa.

Expression of TBPHScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4D42 can result in a decrease in the number of synaptic boutons normalised to the muscle area at the neuromuscular junction of third instar larvae, depending on the level of expression of TBPHScer\UAS.cLa.

Comments

The locomotion defects and the increased number of synaptic boutons at the neuromuscular junction which are seen in TBPHex26 larvae are fully and partially rescued respectively by expression of TBPHScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4D42.
