Expressing HUAS.cMb under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in slightly smaller eyes with a rough appearance, fused or collapsed ommatidia and ectopic or absent interommatidial bristles.

Expressing HUAS.cMb under the control of Scer\GAL4sd.PU leads to severely reduced wing area, strong incisions of the wing margin at the edges and the tip, vein thickening and ectopic nets of veins at the distal part of the longitudinal veins L2 and L5 when flies are raised at 18[o]C. At a rearing temperature of 25[o]C, wings are present only as severely malformed and reduced rudiments. Under the control of Scer\GAL4bi.PU, wings are significantly smaller, with incisions of the wing margin at the tip, vein thickening and ectopic veins at the distal part of L2 and L5 (but no ectopic bristles) at 18[o]C, and more severely at 25[o]C.

Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-mediated expression of HScer\UAS.cMb causes a transformation of sockets into shafts (mostly affecting microchaetae) as well as outer into inner cell fates during bristle development, resulting in double shafts and bald cuticle.

Expression of HScer\UAS.attB.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4 results in wing disc tissue loss due to cell death.

Expression of HScer\UAS.attB.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in small irregular eyes.

Expression of HScer\UAS.attB.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in bristle loss and socket to shaft transformations, mainly of the macrochaetae.

Co-expressing Su(H)UAS.cMa with HUAS.cMb under the control of Scer\GAL4sd.PU results in rudimentary wings and ectopic bristle tufts mainly on the scutellum when flies are raised at 18[o]C, and complete wing loss with more scutellar bristles at 25[o]C. Adults are barely viable and need assistance at eclosion from the pupal case.

Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-mediated co-expression of HScer\UAS.cMb and Su(H)Scer\UAS.cMa strongly affects all N-dependent steps of bristle formation - asymmetric cell divisions as well as lateral inhibition. Bald patches, double bristles and bristle clusters are visible on the head and thorax. The eye is almost completely absent without any visible external structures. Flies die as pharate adults.

Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-mediated co-expression of HScer\UAS.cMb and Su(H)CTD.T:Hsap\MYC results in mild phenotypes and flies hatch normally. Bristle development is subtly disturbed - double sockets are occasionally seen, as are bristle loss and a slightly higher bristle density.

Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4-mediated co-expression of HScer\UAS.cMb and Su(H)Scer\UAS.cMa leads to a very small wing disc, whereas co-expression of HScer\UAS.cMb and Su(H)CTD.T:Hsap\MYC has almost no influence on disc size.

Expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.cMa enhances the wing disc tissue loss seen when HScer\UAS.attB.cMa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4.

Expression of Su(H)WARE.Scer\UAS enhances the wing disc tissue loss seen when HScer\UAS.attB.cMa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4.

Expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.cMa enhances the eye phenotype seen when HScer\UAS.attB.cMa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. Only small slits lacking ommatidial structures and eye colour remain.

Expression of Su(H)WARE.Scer\UAS enhances the eye phenotype seen when HScer\UAS.attB.cMa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. Only small slits lacking ommatidial structures and eye colour remain.

Co-expression of HScer\UAS.attB.cMa and Su(H)Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4 results in severely disturbed growth and development of the third instar larval wing disc.

Expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.cMa strongly enhances the bristle loss phenotype seen when HScer\UAS.attB.cMa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096. Bushes of bristles appear as a result of reduced lateral inhibition.
