UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 500bp inverted repeat.
All larvae expressing Cdc37NIG.12019R under the control of Scer\GAL4A58 show defective epidermal wound closure; cells one to three rows distal to the wound margin fail to undergo the dramatic cell shape changes normally observed in controls, and instead retain a pentagonal or hexagonal cell shape, even 24-30 h after injury; epidermal cells remain small even 24h after injury. The size of epidermal cell nuclei is significantly decreased compared to controls and fails to increase upon wounding; the cell size also fails to increase upon wounding.
