Pan-neuronal co-expression of taraNIG.6889R and taraJF01421 under the control of either Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4nSyb.PU results in a substantial reduction in daily sleep levels.

Co-expression of taraNIG.6889R and taraJF01421 in cholinergic neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4ChAT.PU results in a reduction in sleep levels, but no phenotypes are seen when taraNIG.6889R and taraJF01421 are expressed using any of Scer\GAL4VGlut.PU, Scer\GAL4Gad1.PU, Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PU, Scer\GAL4c309, Scer\GAL4ey-OK107, Scer\GAL4104Y, Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PU, Scer\GAL4Dh44.PU, Scer\GAL4tim.PU or Scer\GAL4Pdf.PU.

Co-expression of taraNIG.6889R and taraJF01421 in the pars lateralis under the control of either Scer\GAL4Crz.504.Δ311-249 results in a reduction in daily sleep levels.
