Insertion of a Mi{Hto-WP} element upstream of Scr ( 3R:6 ,854,635 (-) -Release 6). The hostile takeover (hto) exon in the Mi{Hto-WP} element, which contains a T:Zzzz\FLAG tag and the mCherry form of Disc\RFP and usually splices to the next exon and tagging it, is out of frame with the Scr coding region so no Scr fusion protein is made.
Expression of Hto-BLYBLY under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU results in strong deformation of the head. The eyes are smaller, set back posteriorly, and bulging out laterally. The aristae are often curled instead of flat.
No obvious wing defects are observed when Hto-BLYBLY is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096.
Eyes of flies expressing Hto-BLYBLY under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU are normal.
Hto-BLYBLY, Scer\GAL4ey.PU has visible phenotype, non-suppressible by ScrJF03091, Scer\GAL4ey.PU
Hto-BLYBLY, Scer\GAL4ey.PU has head phenotype, non-suppressible by ScrJF03091, Scer\GAL4ey.PU
Expression of ScrJF03091 does not suppress the head deformation phenotypes seen when Hto-BLYBLY is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU.
