Comment:

"A 613bp deletion removes the middle third of the Sting coding sequence. These sequences have been replaced with a ""mini-white"" gene."

Detailed Description

StingΔRG5 homozygous mutants display a small but significant decrease in climbing ability in young (2 days old) flies, but not in aged (20 days old) flies, when compared to heterozygous and wild-type controls.

Neither homozygous nor heterozygous mutants of StingΔRG5 display any obvious disruption in the tissue and mitochondrial integrity in the flight muscles when compared to controls.

StingΔRG5 mutation alone does not lead to any changes in lifespan when compared to controls.

StingΔRG5 mutants show a significantly increased mortality upon infection with Listeria monocytogenes, as compared to controls.

Neither StingΔRG5 homozygous nor heterozygous mutation modifies the impaired climbing ability, thoracic indentations, and disrupted tissue and mitochondrial integrity in the flight muscles phenotypes of young park25 and Pink1B9 mutants.

In young flies, StingΔRG5 and park25 mutations together enhance the impaired climbing ability phenotype observed as a result of expression of Rnor\Apobec1Tag:Mito(hATP5F1B),Tag:HA under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32, while StingΔRG5 or park25 mutation alone does not modify that phenotype.
