Expressing Bsg25DUAS.mEosFP under the control of either Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR or Scer\GAL4kirre-rP298-G4 results in stage 16 embryo myotubes showing abnormal nuclear positioning, namely nuclei clustering, and nuclei spreading/traversing a shorter distance toward the muscle poles, as compared to controls; the number of nuclei per muscle cells remains unchanged.
Larvae expressing Bsg25DUAS.mEosFP under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR present a significant decrease in average crawling speed, as compared to controls. Their muscles exhibit a significant decrease in stiffness, exhibit smaller and clustered nuclei, and exhibit severe microtubule organization defects (longitudinal microtubules are present, but peri-nuclear microtubule arrays are completely absent), as compared to controls.
