Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

ck07130 homozygote and ck13/ck07130 transheterozygote flies show a significantly reduced response to the pulse song, as measured by sound-evoked potentials from the antennal nerve. The morphology of the Johnston's organ is defective in these mutants, and shows apical detachment of the scolopidia. The dendritic cap of the scolopidium often fails to enclose one of the cilia and is sometimes divided into several compartments. Scolopidial basal attachments to the a2 cuticle are not affected. Expression of cktail.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP in scolopale cells driven by Scer\GAL4sqh.PW, or in neurons driven by Scer\GAL4elav-C155, leads to a reduction in sound-evoked potentials from ck13/ck07130 flies.

Homozygotes have a multiple wing hair phenotype.

The multiple wing hair phenotype caused by expression of towScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB using heat shock at 24 hours after puparium formation is partially suppressed by one copy of ck07130.

Notes on Origin
Discoverer

A. Spradling.

Associated with: a secondary lethal lesion on the chromosome; ck07130/Df(2L)osp29 hemizygotes are viable, suggesting that the lethality of the chromosome is not due to the P{PZ}ck07130 insertion.

Comments
Comments

Most excisions of the P{PZ} element revert the weak ck phenotype.

Excision of the P{PZ} element can revert the mutant phenotype.

Excision of the P{PZ} insertion can revert the phenotype to wild type.
