Expression of HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in complete loss of the eye.

Expression of HScer\UAS.cGa throughout the wing disc, under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1, results in wing discs with no clear dorsal/ventral boundary.

Expression of HScer\UAS.cGa in non-sensory organ precursors, driven by Scer\GAL4mα.hs, converts some of these cells into sensory organ precursors that are either normal or display a double shaft phenotype.

Expression of HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 results in a bristle socket-to-shaft transformation phenotype. The converted socket cells and normal shaft cells produce shafts of nearly equal length. All bristles lack normal sockets and have ectopic shaft structures in flies expressing HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4Su(H).ASE5.

Embryos expressing HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4byn-Gal4 lack hindgut boundary cells.

Expression of HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4byn-Gal4 in embryos strongly suppresses boundary cell differentiation in the hindgut.

Pupae in which HScer\UAS.cGa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB using heat shock at 37oC for 2 hours during the tormogen-trichogen cell fate decision show socket-to-shaft cell fate transformations.

Larvae expressing HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4T113 have much smaller eye discs than normal. Adults derived from these larvae have small eyes, and in the most severe cases the eyes are missing. This eye phenotype is not associated with severe eye roughness. The flies also have small wings and halteres, and many extra thoracic bristles. Flies expressing HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.int2.1 have wing defects ranging from wing margin notches to rudimentary wings.

Co-expression of hipkScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 partially suppresses the complete eye loss caused by expression of HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH; a small eye is seen.

Co-expression of groEE.cLa.Scer\UAS partially suppresses the complete eye loss caused by expression of HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH; a small eye is seen.

Co-expression of groAA.cLa.Scer\UAS enhances the phenotype caused by expression of HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH; the eye fails to develop, and head defects are increased, with the entire head being lost in 29% of flies and only the dorsal vertex of the head being present in 41% of the flies.

Co-expression of eyScer\UAS.cHa enhances the loss of eye phenotype caused by expression of HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH.

Co-expression of eygScer\UAS.cUa suppresses the complete eye loss caused by expression of HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH.

Eye development in HScer\UAS.cGa; Scer\GAL4ey.PH flies is partially rescued by eygScer\UAS.lune.

Enhances the wing nicking phenotype seen in mamN.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4C96 flies.

Strong synergistic effects are seen in flies expressing HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4T113 and also carrying SerBd-3. The wing defects of flies expressing HScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.int2.1 are largely suppressed if they are also carrying NICN.Scer\UAS.

Comments

Expression of Su(H)Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 fails to rescue the abnormal cardiac function of Df(2L)Exel7007 flies.
