Expression of a weakly expressing line of nkdScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4B119 results in a teardrop-shaped ventral eye and causes loss and lateral displacement of sternite bristles in the ventral abdomen. Expression of a more strongly expressing line of nkdScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4B119 results in ventral eye reduction and almost complete loss of sternite bristles in the ventral abdomen.

In nkdScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC; Scer\GAL4ap-md544 wing discs the dorsal compartment is reduced in size compared to the ventral compartment. These flies survive to adulthood and have wings with a reduced dorsal surface, which curls upwards.

nkdScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC when driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF has no visible effect on eye development.

Expression of nkdScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC when driven by Scer\GAL4hs.PB 24 h after puparium formation (APF) produces adult flies with wing hair polarity defects that are indistinguishable from those seen in dsh1 mutant adults.
