Detailed Description

Posterior cross vein formation is normal when cv-2EP1103 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

Overexpression of cv-2EP1103 in the posterior compartment of the wing, under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E, does not affect crossvein formation.

Homozygotes have wild-type wings. When expression of cv-2EP1103 is driven by Scer\GAL4ap-md52, a number of wing phenotypes are seen. The most severely affected wings have ectopic venation near wing vein L2, vein deltas at the tips of then longitudinal veins, thickening of the anterior crossvein. Occasionally partial loss of the posterior crossvein is seen.

The disruption of the posterior crossvein characteristic for flies expressing Gyc76CGD48 under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is not improved by co-expression of cv-2EP1103, sogScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1, nor by the a combination of sogScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 and cv-2EP1103 but it is rescued by triple co-expression of sogScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1, cvEP1349 and cv-2EP1103.

The loss of crossvein phenotype can be rescued when cv-2EP1103 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E, along with sogScer\UAS.cYa expression.
