Expression of one copy of Su(var)205hs.T:Ecol\lacI-DNA-BD partially suppresses the midgut hyperplasia seen when LamGD1478 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA.

w256x.Ecol\lacO, Su(var)205hs.T:Ecol\lacI animals usually exhibit silencing of the w gene, unless the P{Ecol\lacO.256x.w} insertion is very close to a gene. This suppression is not affected by the addition of Su(var)3-96.

Tethered Su(var)205 (in Su(var)205hs.T:Ecol\lacI, w256x.Ecol\lacO) causes ectopic intra or inter-chromosomal associations, in about half of the nuclei examined in affected insertion lines. The addition of Su(var)3-9hs.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP increases that proportion to nearly 100%.
