Gug3333 dominantly enhances the lethality of ftz5/ftz13 animals at 26.5oC (fewer animals survive to adulthood). This interaction is a maternal effect. Gug3333 dominantly enhances the segmentation defects seen in ftz5/ftz13 embryos at 27.5oC; 98.7% of the embryos have segment defects and 98.0% have at least 3 ftz-dependent segments affected. The mutant arista phenotype seen in AntpNs/+ adults is partially suppressed if they are also heterozygous for Gug3333 (28% of flies have normal arista development). The reduction in the number of sex comb teeth on the first leg seen in Df(3R)Scr/+ males is enhanced by heterozygosity for Gug3333. Gug3333/+ enhances the frequency of transformation of haltere to wing seen in Df(3L)brm11/+ flies. The transformation of second leg to first leg seen in Pcl1/Pcl4 males is strongly suppressed by heterozygosity for Gug3333.
