Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Homozygous embryos have severely defective head skeletons, mild segmentation defects in the cuticle and an increased number of amnioserosa cells. eIF-4aYE9/Df(2L)E110 animals show late embryonic and first larval instar lethality, and have very few cuticle defects. Embryos derived from a cross of heterozygous females to heterozygous males show a hatching rate of only 72.3%, while the hatching rate of embryos derived from a cross of eIF-4aYE9/+ females to Df(2L)E110/+ males is 78.3%. Heterozygous larvae show a growth delay, eclosing 2 days later than their control siblings at 25oC.
