Temporal expression of DdcGD1189 under the control of Scer\GAL4VT064246 during adulthood (by using Gal80[ts]) decreases olfactory medium term memory (1h) when the experiment is carried out in crowded conditions (groups of 32 flies - socially facilitated memory).

Expression of DdcGD1189 using Scer\GAL4en.PU results in a paler posterior compartment. A held-out wing phenotype is not observed.

Adult flies expressing DdcKK100293 under the control of Scer\GAL4c316 (with developmental expression suppressed by Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B and keeping them at 18[o]C until eclosion) exhibit normal olfactory learning but show a significant defect in 3 hour memory. In contrast, adult flies kept continuously at 18[o]C exhibit normal learning and 3 hour memory.

Flies expressing DdcKK100293 under the control of Scer\GAL45015 exhibit 3 hour memory impairment after training, independent of a cold shock.

Serotonin production is reduced significantly in flies expressing DdcKK100293 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155.

Spatial specificity for the requirement of Ddc in the DPM neurons is confirmed through expression of DdcKK100293 in DPM neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4VT64246.

Adults expressing DdcGD1189 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.

Adults expressing DdcGD1189 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in a colour difference between the central Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain of the notum and the surrounding lateral region in 80-90% or 90-100% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 0% or 40-50% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

1 day memory is impaired after spaced training, but not after massed training in an olfactory associative conditioning assay in flies co-expressing DdcGD1189 and HnGD12227 under the control of Scer\GAL4G0431. The defect in memory after spaced training is still seen if the temperature sensitive Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B allele is used to restrict Scer\GAL4 expression to the adult stage.

Temporal induction after development of both DdcKK100293 and HnGD12227 in Scer\GAL4c316 neurons impairs anesthesia-resistant memory formation.
