Adulthood-only expression of botvGD2083 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4esg.PU and Gal80[ts] (induced by temperature shift from 18[o]C to 29[o]C) leads to adult posterior midguts showing increased mitotic index (pH3 staining), and increased numbers of stem cells and enteroblasts (i.e. esg-, Dl- and GBE+Su(H)-positive cells), but unchanged numbers of enteroendocrine cells (Pros-positive cells), as compared to controls; some of the progenitor cells (esg-positive) mis-express the enterocyte marker PDM1, indicative of intestinal homeostasis loss; the size of the polyploid cells expressing botvGD2083 is smaller than fully differentiated enterocytes, indicating a defect in maturation.

Expression of botvGD2083 in epidermic cells under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 results in severe reduction in the overall dendrite or terminal dendrite density as well as terminal dendrite number within the intersegmental area in the adjacent class IV dendritic arborizing neurons in third instar larvae.

Adults expressing botvGD2083 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in lethality, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in loss of bristles on the notum in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in a colour difference between the central Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain of the notum and the surrounding lateral region in 50-60% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.
