polytene chromosome & larval salivary gland, with Scer\GAL443B

polytene chromosome & larval salivary gland, with Scer\GAL4hs.PB

polytene chromosome & larval salivary gland | conditional - heat sensitive, with Scer\GAL4hs.PB

    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Expression of Cap-H2EY09979 under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU results in unpaired salivary gland chromosomes in third instar larvae. The salivary gland cells have wrinkled nuclear envelopes and 32% have intranuclear microspheres.

Expression of Cap-H2EY09979 under the control of Scer\GAL443B results in polytene chromosome disassembly in the salivary gland nuclei of larvae.

Expression of Cap-H2EY09979 under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB in third instar larvae using a heat shock of 24 hours at 35[o]C results in polytene chromosome disassembly, with the extent of dispersal being directly related to the time after Cap-H2 induction that the salivary glands are examined. Significant disassembly of the polytene chromosomes is seen after 6 hours of Cap-H2 induction.

Expression of Cap-H2EY09979 under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB does not result in DNA breaks detectable with TUNEL in the salivary glands.

Expression of Cap-H2EY09979 under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB results in a drastic separation of salivary gland chromosomal components.

Expression of Cap-H2EY09979 under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 partially suppresses the Ubx1:Cbx-1/+ wing phenotype.

The polytene chromosome disassembly that is seen in larval salivary glands expressing Cap-H2EY09979 under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB is suppressed by Cap-D3EY00456/Df(2L)Exel7023.
