Increased BrdU incorporation is seen in the posterior compartment of the wing pouch zone of non-proliferating cells (ZNC) of wing discs expressing crolScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E. The posterior compartment ZNC contains mitotic cells in these discs.

Wing disc posterior compartment cells expressing crolScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E show massive levels of apoptosis.

The posterior compartment of the wing is smaller than that of controls in adults expressing crolScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

Wing discs co-expressing both BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa and crolScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E show a substantial increase in the size of the posterior compartment in 120 hour larvae. This increase in size is associated with a massive increase in S phase and mitosis.

Clones in the wing disc that are co-expressing both BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa and crolScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP are overgrown and show an increase in BrdU incorporation and in the number of mitotic cells, compared to clones expressing BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa alone under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP. Increased proliferation is also seen in cells adjacent to the clones.
