beUAS.cZa/Scer\GAL4c739 rescues beP1
Scer\GAL4c305a/beUAS.cZa rescues beP1
Scer\GAL4Feb170/beUAS.cZa fails to rescue beP1
beScer\UAS.cZa (insertion P{UAS-ben.Z}4-8) Scer\GAL4hs.PB rescues the long term memory defects seen in beP1/Y adults if a 45 minute heat shock is applied 3 hours before training. No rescue is seen if the heat shock is applied 3 hours before testing, instead of before training. beScer\UAS.cZa (insertion P{UAS-ben.Z}4-8) Scer\GAL4hs.PB also rescues the reduction in evoked excitatory junction currents seen at neuromuscular junctions in beP1/Y larvae.
beScer\UAS.cZa Scer\GAL4247; Scer\GAL80ts.alphaTub84B rescues the long term memory defects seen in beP1/Y adults if the training and testing is done at 30'C (non-permissive temperature for Scer\GAL80ts.alphaTub84B) but not at 18'C (permissive temperature for Scer\GAL80ts.alphaTub84B). The same results are seen if other mushroom body drivers are used - Scer\GAL4c739 or Scer\GAL4c305a - in place of Scer\GAL4247. In contrast if the ellipsoid body driver Scer\GAL4Feb170 is used, no rescue is seen.
