Detailed Description

Expression of scUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 leads to ectopic dorsocentral macrochaetae in notum when compared to control adults.

Expression of scScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Dl-05151-G in adult midguts leads to a significant increase in the number of enteroendocrine cells, and an increase in the number of dividing cells per gut, as compared to controls.

Expression of scScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4DC results in additional dorsocentral bristles (approximately 28% of flies have more than two dorsocentral bristles per hemithorax).

Genetic Interactions

Co-expression of esgScer\UAS.cFa suppresses the increased enteroendocrine cell number and the dividing cell number in adult midguts expressing scScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Dl-05151-G.

Expression of scSA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4DC results in greater rescue of the loss of dorsocentral bristles seen in wgSp-1/wgl-17 flies than expression of scScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4DC.

Comments

Expression of scScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB fails to rescue the mechanosensory bristle defects found in scase-1 mutants.
