The P{PZ} element of the P{PZ}gcmrA87 insertion has been replaced with a P{GawB} element.
gcm reporter is expressed early in the development of the secretory cells of the spermathecum during pupal stages. In adults, reporter is detected in the spermathecum but not in the ovaries or oviduct.
In addition to expression in glial precursor cells and lamina precursor cells in the third instar larval optic lobe and a central brain cluster, reporter expression is observed in medulla neuropil glial cells. Reporter expression is also observed in in the ventral nerve cord in leg neuropile glia and in four pairs of neurons within the dorsal region of the ventral nerve cord.
Embryonic expression is observed in all non-midline glial cells.
