Only 14% of the flies are viable compared with 100% in esgL4/+. The increased nicotine sensitivity is also enhanced.
Expression of esgEU143 partially suppresses the semi-lethality seen when P{UAS-mir-310.cluster.DsRed} (which consists of the mir-310Scer\UAS.cluster, mir-311Scer\UAS.cluster, mir-312Scer\UAS.cluster and mir-313Scer\UAS.cluster alleles) is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4L4.
