Scer\GAL4GMR.PU-mediated expression of soFL.Scer\UAS leads to a severe roughening of the eye - defects are most severe in the posterior third of the eye where the eye appears devoid of ommatidia.

Expression of soFL.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU results in a smaller eye than normal. The remaining ommatidia have relatively normal numbers of photoreceptors and positioning.

Expression of soFL.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in a severe roughening of the anterior half of the eye and almost complete elimination of retinal tissue in the posterior half.

Scer\GAL4GMR.PU-mediated expression of soFL.Scer\UAS moderately inhibits eye development.

Expression of soFL.Scer\UAS via Scer\GAL4dpp.PU, Scer\GAL4cb41, Scer\GAL4cb49 or Scer\GAL4sd.PU yields ectopic eyes on either the adult antenna or the ventral portion of the head.

Expression of soFL.Scer\UAS via Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-5 causes the wing to shrink in size and have patterning defects, however retinal tissue is not induced.

Expression of soFL.Scer\UAS via Scer\GAL4ey.PU or Scer\GAL4GMR.PU has only a minor effect on the development and structure of the eye.
