AtatKO adults exhibit a reduction in their climbing ability.

TatKO and TatKO/Df(3L)BSC113 mutant larvae show a significantly decreased response to gentle touch, as compared to controls; TatKO mutant larvae also show significantly decreased responses (rolling) to harsh touch (at 11mN to 44mN, but not 78mN to 127mN) and to vibration (70dB, 500Hz sound), but not to noxious heat (39.5[o]C), as compared to controls; TatKO mutant larvae, however, do not exhibit obvious locomotion defects.

TatKO mutant larvae do not show any obvious dendrite branch distribution defects in C3da (ddaA, ddaF) and chordotonal neurons; C4da neurons do not show overt dendrite coverage defects but show a minor but significant decrease in branch points, as compared to controls. C3da neuron dendrites present significantly more growing plus end microtubule ends (i.e EB1-GFP comets) and significantly more microtubules (Futsch immunostaining) than controls; mechanostimulation of these neurons also leads to a significant increase in growing plus end microtubule ends in dendrites, which is not observed in controls.
