The wing phenotype caused by expression of SerScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 is suppressed by coexpression of NECNΔ17-19;24-26.Scer\UAS, although suppression is not always complete. The wing phenotype caused by expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 is not suppressed by coexpression of NECNΔ17-19;24-26.Scer\UAS.
The addition of wgl-12.Scer\UAS in animals expressing NECNΔ17-19;24-26.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 restores the wing pouch almost to wild-type, and partially suppresses the adult wing phenotype, though the wing margin remains severely disrupted. When expression of NECNΔ17-19;24-26.Scer\UAS and wgScer\UAS.cGa are driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1, the whole of the anterior compartment of the wing disc is covered in SOPs (sensory organ precursors). However the spacing normally seen between SOPs is abolished.
