Expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa in the third instar eye discs (under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155) results in a loss in the specification of R1, R6 and R7 and an over-specification of non-neuronal cone and pigment cell types.

Expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4neur-P72 results in extra polar follicle cells.

Expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4upd-E132 results in loss of the stalk between egg chambers and fusion of neighbouring chambers.

Expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa in a Ubxlac1-GAL4 background (the transgene expression is driven by the P{GawB} in the insertion that generates the Ubxlac1-GAL4 allele) enhances the haltere phenotype of Ubxlac1-GAL4 flies, leading to a large number of wing-type bristle and trichomes on the haltere.

Expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa, under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH, causes adult flies to have larger eyes than wild type.

Expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4 does not affect eye size.

The number and length of filopodia formed by sensory organ precursors in wing disc cells at the time puparium formation is dramatically increased in DlScer\UAS.cHa; Scer\GAL4neur-P72 flies compared to wild-type.

Expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in a small wing with an ectopic margin along the anterior/posterior boundary on both surfaces of the wing.

Flies expressing DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev develop many symmetrical ommatidial clusters showing the R4/R4 phenotype. The development of outer photoreceptors R1 to R6 is also affected.

Transformation of the trichogen to a tormogen fate is seen in notal macrochaetae of flies expressing DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4l(3)31-1-31-1, including the anterior dorsocentral and posterior supraalar bristles.

Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1-mediated expression in wild type at 18oC causes pharate adult lethality, mutants exhibit severe defects in the wings and legs which often do not evert and are occasionally duplicated. In less severe cases wings have extra tissue on the ventral and dorsal sides, with a new margin on both sides which runs perpendicular to and crosses the endogenous margin. Wings do not exhibit margin nicks. Ectopic wings develop in the head.

Expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4h-H10 significantly suppresses the multiple photoreceptor-R8 phenotype in rno3; Rbf15aΔ somatic clones in the eye.

The following heterozygous mutations suppress the large eye phenotype of Scer\GAL4ey.PH > DlScer\UAS.cHa flies: eyg685, Df(1)N-54l9, upd154 and hop25. Heterozygosity for either domeG0218, domeG0282 or Stat92Ej6C8 fails to suppress this phenotype.

Co-expression of tshScer\UAS.cGa and DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4 results in eye enlargements on both dorsal and ventral margins in both the eye disc and the adult eye. Ventrally and dorsally located clones in the eye co-expressing tshScer\UAS.cGa and DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI result in overgrowth.

The ectopic margin caused by expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 is suppressed by coexpression of NECN.Scer\UAS, except for a small patch on the dorsal side, and the wing is almost wild type in shape. The wing phenotype caused by expression of DlScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 is not suppressed by coexpression of NECNΔ10-12.Scer\UAS or NECNΔ17-19;24-26.Scer\UAS.

The loss of wing disc tissue seen in SerRX106/SerCS94 animals is rescued by DlScer\UAS.cHa expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1.

The loss of wing seen in apUGO35 homozygotes is partially rescued by DlScer\UAS.cHa expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1.
