Detailed Description
Statement

17% of homozygous and 18% of pAbpEP310/pAbpk10109 spermatocytes show defects in meiosis, with the most common phenotype being detachment of the meiotic spindles from astral microtubules.

Over-expression of pAbpEP310 reduces dendrite branching, and alters dendritic morphology in larval class IV sensory neurons (induced under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU). Total dendrite length is significantly reduced in these neurons.

The rough eye phenotype observed in Fmr1sev.PW flies is suppressed in a pAbpEP310/+ background.

The density of T-bars in the boutons of pAbpEP310/Df(2R)Pcl7B mutants is the same as wild type.

The mean amplitude of miniature postsynaptic currents (mEJCs) at the neuromuscular junction is indistinguishable from wild type in pAbpEP310/Df(2R)Pcl7B flies. Evoked postsynaptic currents (eEJCs) are significantly larger than in wild-type. The number of junctional boutons per neuromuscular junction is increased compared to wild type.

23% of pAbpEP310/+ ; larpmtr-null/+ double heterozygous spermatocytes show defects in meiosis.

16% of pAbpEP310/+ ; larpS003108/+ double heterozygous spermatocytes show defects in meiosis.

The frequency of homozygous pAbpEP310 spermatocytes that show defects in meiosis (17%) is increased by larpmtr-null/+ (to 31.4%) or larpS003108/+ (to 29.3%).
