Description

UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of Akt1 which is tagged at the N-terminal end with Tag:MyrPalm(Lck) (myristoylation-palmitoylation motif) and is also tagged with Tag:HA. The resulting Akt1 protein is membrane-anchored.

Larval oenocyte clones expressing Akt1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1,T:Uuuu\MyrPalm-Lck under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.Act5C display significantly increased size of oenocytes, as compared to controls.

Overexpression of Akt1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1,T:Uuuu\MyrPalm1 in fat body cell clones under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PP leads to a fat body cell overgrowth phenotype.

Flies expressing Akt1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1,T:Uuuu\MyrPalm1 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have larger eyes than normal due to enlarged ommatidia.
