Flies expressing KrnScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have rough eyes and ectopic wing veins.
When KrnScer\UAS.cUa is driven by Scer\GAL4sev.EP disruption in the organisation of ommatidia is seen, most ommatidia are misrotated showing both under and over-rotations, though correct chirality is retained. Photoreceptor recruitment is not affected, though over-recruitment of cone cells is seen. R3/R4 specification and ommatidial rotation phenotypes are not visible in the third instar larval eye disc. The rotation defects occur sometime between 6 and 30 hours pot-pupariation. Ommatidial misrotations are also seen if KrnScer\UAS.cUa is driven by Scer\GAL4hs.PB. Heat shocking these animals at various points during development shows that Krn's effect on misrotation occurs very soon after its role in photoreceptor recruitment. This corresponds to s period during or after the second 45oC rotation, seen by ommatidia during the imaginal disc stage.
KrnUAS.cUa/Scer\GAL4sev.EP is a non-enhancer of abnormal cell polarity phenotype of nmoP1
KrnUAS.cUa/Scer\GAL4sev.EP is a non-suppressor of abnormal cell polarity phenotype of nmoP1
KrnUAS.cUa/Scer\GAL4sev.EP is a non-enhancer of ommatidium phenotype of nmoP1
KrnUAS.cUa/Scer\GAL4sev.EP is a non-suppressor of ommatidium phenotype of nmoP1
KrnUAS.cUa is rescued by KrnRNAi.UAS/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF
Expression of KrndsRNA.Scer\UAS suppresses the rough eye and ectopic wing venation phenotypes seen in KrnScer\UAS.cUa, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies.
