Flies expressing cycΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf show a significant increase in sleep latency compared to controls.
Males expressing cycΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4desat1.PB show a significant increase in the levels of (z)-7-Tricosene and (z)-7-Pentacosene compared to wild type. These males show a temporal difference in remating behaviour compared to wild type, without affecting the total number of matings.
Flies expressing cycΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE show abnormal temperature entrainment of behavioural rhythms.
Flies expressing cycΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4nan.PK normal temperature entrainment of behavioural rhythms.
Flies expressing cycΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE are arrhythmic with respect to locomotor activity when assayed for at least 5 days in constant darkness after being entrained to 12 hour light:12 hour dark cycles for 3 days, in contrast to controls which show robust locomotor activity rhythms under these conditions. Only 21% of flies expressing cycΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf are arrhythmic with respect to locomotor activity when assayed for at least 5 days in constant darkness after being entrained to 12 hour light:12 hour dark cycles for 3 days, in contrast to controls which show robust locomotor activity rhythms under these conditions. The diurnal changes in the mean electroantennogram (EAG) response to ethyl acetate which are seen in wild-type flies maintained in 12 hour light:12 hour dark cycles are abolished in flies expressing cycΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE or Scer\GAL4Or83b.2.642.T:Hsim\VP22. The diurnal changes in the mean electroantennogram (EAG) response to ethyl acetate which are seen in wild-type flies maintained in 12 hour light:12 hour dark cycles are abolished in flies expressing cycΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Or22a.8197. However, if the EAG recordings are taken from a more lateral position on the antenna (which is outside the region of Scer\GAL4Or22a.8197 expression), then the EAG responses are rhythmic, albeit at a lower amplitude.
