Expression of Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP in all mushroom body neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 causes a loss of the α and β lobes.

Expression of Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 results in the loss of alpha and beta lobes of the mushroom body.

Ectopic expression of Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG in MARCM somatic clones causes presynaptic terminal overgrowth and significantly increases the presynaptic terminal length in class IV dendritic arborizing neurons in third instar larvae compared to controls.

Ectopic expression of Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG causes presynaptic terminal overgrowth in class IV dendritic arborizing neurons in third instar larvae compared to controls.

Ectopic expression of Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80 causes ectopic repulsion between class I and class III dendritic arborizing neurons in third instar larvae compared to controls.

Overexpression of Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP in da neurons, under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG generates abnormally long presynaptic arbors, resulting in a 2.7-fold increase in presynaptic terminal length.

Expression of Dscamexon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP in dorsal paired medial neurons, driven by Scer\GAL4c316, affects the development of these neurons and results in their predominant projection into the mushroom body α and bgr; lobe subsets. Dscamexon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP expression does not significantly affect punitive-odor and reward-odor memory.

Animals expressing Dscamexon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4OK107 show drastic defects in mushroom body axon projections. Mushroom body lobes are missing or misshapen and the mushroom body calyx is reduced in size. The peduncle is normal-looking.

Expression of TBCDmiRNA.Scer\UAS partially suppresses the loss of mushroom body α and β lobes seen in flies expressing Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107.

A TBCD1/+ mutant background partially suppresses the loss of mushroom body α and β lobes seen in flies expressing Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107.

The loss of alpha and beta lobes of the mushroom body observed in brains of adult flies expressing Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 is partially restored by combination with Stripdogi in heterozygous state.

The increased presynaptic terminal length observed in class IV dendritic arborizing neurons in somatic MARCM clones expressing Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG in third instar larvae is completely abolished in clones that are also homozygous mutant for either Abl1 or Abl4.

The ectopic repulsion between between class I and class III dendritic arborizing neurons in third instar larvae observed upon expression of Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80 cannot be rescued by combination with Abl1/Abl4.

Expression of shi1.Scer\UAS with Dscamexon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP by Scer\GAL4c316, and transferring the animals to 31[o]C for one hour immediately after training significantly reduces 3hr aversive odour memory compared to controls.

The dendritogenesis defects (reduced number of dendritic tips) in the embryonic aCC motoneurons characteristic for Dscam123/Dscam121 transheterozygotes cannot be rescued by expression of Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4eve.RN2 but is fully rescued when both Scer\GAL4eve.RN2 and Scer\GAL4GMR23E04 driver are used simultaneously - but only in the aCC that are associated with MP1 neurons expressing Dscam1exon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP (Scer\GAL4GMR23E04 drives expression in a random half of all MP1 cells).

Co-expression of Dscamexon17.2.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP partially rescues the mushroom body phenotype of DscammiRNA.Scer\UAS.18 Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 animals.
