The expression of sip3GD3145 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, Scer\GAL4ey.PU and Dicer-2 (for efficient RNAi) does not lead to any obvious eye morphology defects, as compared to controls.

The temporally regulated expression (by Gal80[ts]) of sip3GD3145, for 5 days under the control of Scer\GAL4NP0001, or for 6 days under the control of Scer\GAL4NP5130, under the combined control of Scer\GAL4NP5130 and Scer\GAL80Su(H).GBE, or under the control of Scer\GAL4Su(H).GBE, results in a strong increase in the proportion of mitotic cells in adult midguts, as compared to controls; ; expression for 6 days under the control of Scer\GAL4NP5130 also results in an increase in the proportion of intestinal stem cells, assessed by immmuno-staining for Delta, in adult midguts as compared to controls.clonal expression in the adult midgut also leads to a strong increase in the average clone cell number at 6 days (under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU) or at 4 and 7 days (under the control of Scer\GAL4unspecified) after clone induction, as compared to control clones.

Adults expressing sip3GD3145 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
