Expression of NScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PU as well as the Scer\GAL4elav.PU driver in combination with Scer\GAL80ple.PK (all together with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression to adulthood) results in significantly decreased adult lifespan and, with the Scer\GAL4ple.PU driver, loss of dopaminergic neurons from the PPL1, PPM1/2 and PPM3 clusters in the adult brain.

Nl1N-ts1 animals raised at the restrictive temperature from 12 hours after puparium formation onwards and expressing NScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4neur-GAL4-A101 (to restore N activity selectively in the sensory organs) show normal development of the majority of mechanosensory organs of the leg, and each of these correctly induces a single proximal bract.

Comments

Expression of NScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4repo-M1B efficiently rescues the early axon phenotype of Nl1N-ts1 and restores restores the continuity of the neuronal meshwork.

Expression of NScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4htl.PM efficiently rescues the early axon phenotype of Nl1N-ts1.

Expression of NScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL415J2 efficiently rescues the early axon phenotype of Nl1N-ts1.

Scer\GAL4da.G32-mediated expression of NScer\UAS.cUa significantly rescues the neurogenic phenotype of Df(1)N-54l9 embryos, and suppresses the notched wing phenotype of Df(1)N-54l9/+ flies.
