Description

UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat of Nf-YA sequences corresponding to amino acid residues 231-399.

UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat of a 510bp fragment of the C-terminal region of Nf-YA.

Expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PS can result in lethality, or in a rough eye phenotype, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression of Nf-YAScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in a thorax disclosed phenotype.

Animals expressing Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 die as pupae or pharate adults and have a cleft in the dorsal notum.

Co-expression of Nf-YAScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 suppresses the cleft notum phenotype caused by expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237.

Expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in a small eye phenotype in 53% of cases.

Co-expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ in animals expressing Nf-YAScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in more than 90% viability and the flies have a normal head phenotype.

Co-expression of either phlhs.PU or sevhs.PU suppresses the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PS.

A p53-ns heterozygous background strongly enhances the thorax disclosed phenotype induced by Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ expression (under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237).

The cleft notum phenotype caused by expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 is enhanced by bsk1/+ or bsk2/+, is only marginally enhanced by hepr75/+ and is not affected by hep1/+.

The cleft notum phenotype caused by expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 is suppressed by co-expression of bskScer\UAS.cAYa.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Co-expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa has no effect on the cleft notum phenotype caused by expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Comments

Co-expression of Nf-YAScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 rescues the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of Nf-YAdsRNA.231-399.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PS.
