Expression via Scer\GAL4wor.PA and Scer\GAL80ase.PN does not prevent proliferation of larval neuroblasts (NBs), and increases the size and extends the lifespan of pupal NBs.

Expression of COX4KK107510 driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU leads to early larval lethality; larvae survive at least 15 days but do not progress beyond morphologically abnormal L1 or L2 stage.

Expression of COX4KK107510 driven by Scer\GAL4elav-C155 leads to almost complete lethality, with males more affected than heterozygous females; weak eclosing adults soon die in food, particularly males. Expression of COX4KK107510 driven by Scer\GAL4elav.PLu leads to a shortened lifespan and locomotor impairments (in males), but no obvious anatomical defects.

Co-expression of Zzzz\AOXScer\UAS.cFa (but not Scer\NDI1Scer\UAS.cSa) enables development to proceed to the pupal stage (and a few flies eclose) in flies with expression of COX4KK107510 driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU. Co-expression of Zzzz\AOXScer\UAS.cFa (but not Scer\NDI1Scer\UAS.cSa) partially rescues lethality in flies with expression of COX4KK107510 driven by Scer\GAL4elav-C155. Co-expression of Zzzz\AOXScer\UAS.cFa suppresses shortened lifespan in males with expression of COX4KK107510 driven by Scer\GAL4elav.PLu; co-expression of Scer\NDI1Scer\UAS.cSa enhances the phenotype.
